I got another race day in at Qualcomm stadium and won the B Stock class for the second time (my last time was in February).
Neil and Diana were there to cheer me on and it was a good chance for me to get some quality seat time. Besides the three runs for the championship, I got in a number of fun runs after the event was over.
Here are my times:
53.358 (+2 cones)
52.521
50.995 (winning time)
---
52.639
53.626
52.500
52.848
52.208
The last five runs were fun runs with Neil riding passenger. I'd love to say he was a really heavy person that slowed me down, but I'd be lying. With a decent average time over all of them, though, I'm stoked to have hit that winning time by so much.
Final results are yet to be posted. I'm a happy boy, though.
Notes: Yesterday, I added my used Mazdaspeed front sway bar with Neil's help. As my friend, Doug, mentioned, this would induce understeer and I really noticed it when I got on the course. I'll be compensating for that with an alignment adjustment adding camber to lean the top of the wheels inward -- tip from Jason Munchen.
I've had a fair number of people express concern for my safety, but I assure you that autocrossing is incredibly safe. Once you see it, you'll understand. Feel free to come down and check it out if you ever have the chance.
Here are pics of me during the day. Other pics of other racers are on the way.
If you see me smiling, it's very much in part because I got to spend a day on the track. It really is one of the most fun things I've ever done.
UPDATE: Here are the results online. Also, here are results from my first win in February.
